What Can You Do at Pioneer Park?

Pioneer Park in Stanley, Idaho, is a fantastic place to hang out with the family on a beautiful morning or afternoon. There is a playground, a frisbee golf course, a baseball field, and grills that you can use for a fun family cookout, especially on the Fourth of July. But, the best reason for visiting Pioneer Park is the view. You can enjoy 360-degree views of the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains from every spot around the park, making this one of the top places to flex your photography skills. There is a short path circling the area that allows you to get a variety of shots of the breathtaking mountains looming over the small town of Stanley.  

Another fantastic way to make the most of your time at Pioneer Park in Stanley, Idaho, is to spend an evening stargazing. The Dark Sky Reserve in Idaho offers visitors a front-row seat to some of the clearest skies on the planet. It is one of only 11 Gold Tier level dark sky preserves in the world and the only one in the entire United States. You and your family can bring a blanket, sprawl out, and let the night sky be your entertainment for the evening. While this may not be as exciting as whitewater rafting or hiking, it’s a great place to relax and recuperate in between outdoor adventures!

Where Is It and When Can You Visit?

You can find Pioneer Park in Stanley, Idaho. Drive north from the Redfish Lake Lodge into town, turn left on to Highway 21 at the junction.  Then turn left on Wall Street. You will climb the hill toward the airport. When the road forks, turn right and you will arrive at Pioneer Park. It’s also less than a 15-minute walk from most of the restaurants in Stanley if you would like to go for a brief stroll after eating lunch!
