The 2016 Redfish Lake Lodge Memorial Run – Redfish Lake Lodge’s 6th Annual Memorial Run – is rushing toward us like a speeding locomotive. This year’s event will take place at Redfish Lake Lodge on Saturday, May 28, 2016 and we’re excited to welcome larger field of participants than any year before. The course continues to update with the new road construction, so we’re excited to take on a few totally new legs this time around.
The race offers three different course lengths, as well as a 1 Mile Run for kids, ages 3-10 years. Each distance will be run in a separate heat, with all legs starting and ending on the Lodge Front Lawn. The schedule will be organized as follows:
- 9:30am: Kid’s Race (1 Mile Run)
- 10:00am: Half Marathon Race (13.1 Mile Run)
- 10:30am: 10K Race (6.21 Mile Run)
- 10:45am: 5K Race (3.11 Mile Run)
If you haven’t signed up yet, there’s still time! To be guaranteed a t-shirt, all participants must register on or before Friday, May 20, 2016. You can still register online up until Friday, May 27. You can also register onsite on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Lodge, or, Saturday morning before the race from 8:00am – 9:15am. The costs are as follows:
- Half Marathon: $60.00 (after May 13, 2016)
- 10K: $45.00 (after May 11, 2016)
- 5K: $35.00 (after May 11, 2016)

In addition to all the fun the race offers, Redfish Lake Lodge is happy to provide a Pre-Race Meal on Friday night, May 27, 2016 for a limited fee of $12.00 per person. Live music will be provided and participants are encouraged to gather and meet other runners from across the United States. On Race Day, participants can enjoy an amazing post-race meal under the tent. Family and friends are encouraged to enjoy a reasonably priced meal from our outdoor food and beverage gazebo featuring pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, fish tacos, and our famous “Living the Dream Ice Cream”.
Once finished, runners are encouraged to join the “Bluefish Club” at “high noon” by jumping from the end of the Redfish Dock to take a “refreshing” dunk in the Lake’s frigid waters. It may sound crazy, but it’s well worth the experience – and you might even earn a small prize for your effort.
