Galena Summit Overlook

Situated off of Highway 75, about 30 miles into your Sun Valley to Stanley trip, you’ll see a sign “Galena Summit, EL. 8,701 ft.” There is also a small lot on the right-hand side of the road where you can park and enjoy the crisp mountain air. One of the most scenic mountain passes in America, the Galena Summit Overlook provides panoramic views of the vast Sawtooth Valley. This delightful lookout is the perfect place to see the snow-covered mountains in our colder months as well as a gorgeous sunrise or stunning sunset throughout the year!

Smiley Creek

Located 38 miles from Sun Valley, Smiley Creek is a small area just off of Highway 75. When you want to stretch your legs, stop by the Smiley Creek Lodge. This rustic establishment features an inviting restaurant filled with aromas of regionally inspired cuisine and a quaint ice cream shop offering some of the most delicious handmade milkshakes in Central Idaho. You can also find a small store featuring novelties from our area!

Native Wildlife

On your drive through our rugged area, you’ll see a variety of wildlife. In fact, many of these creatures are walking along the side of the road. You’ll have the unique opportunity to see species, including Deer, Sandhill Cranes, and Pronghorn Antelope in their native habitats! There are also signs next to the road saying, “Stock Crossing” and “Game Crossing,” so be on the lookout!

Relax at Redfish Lake Lodge
