The Best Redfish Lake Activities

From leisure to adventure, there is an endless list of Redfish Lake activities. Explore the beauty of Redfish Lake by paddleboat or take out a kayak or canoe. If you’re up for some relaxation, sunbathe on our white sandy beaches or read your favorite book on the front porch of the lodge. Let your inner photographer out as you take in the picturesque scenery of the Sawtooth National Forest and Redfish Lake. Take a hike on one of the many trails in the area where you can climb to new heights or gaze at a cascading waterfall. You can even go whitewater rafting on the nearby Salmon River. With so many new adventures around every corner, you’ll never want to leave our outdoor paradise.

Redfish Bike Rentals

The Stanley Basin boasts some of the finest mountain biking trails in the nation. Challenge yourself on one of the popular loops – Fisher/Williams, Potato Mountain, or Elk Mountain. Or stay closer to the lake on the Fishhook Creek Trail, a great ride for all ages. If mountain trails aren’t your thing, you can ride around the lake on one of our comfort cruisers. The bike rental shop is right next to the Lodge in front of our General Store. We have bikes for all interests and ages, so everyone in your family can enjoy this fun Redfish Lake activity and many trials like Central Idaho Bike Trails and Fishhook Creek Trail.

Redfish Lake Marina

We love hitting the water here at in Stanley, and boating on Redfish Lake is one of our favorite activities. The Marina offers boat rentals, scenic lake tours, and a lake shuttle. Take a look at our Marina information for pricing and shuttle schedule.

Redfish Lake Marina has many options and opportunities for families to enjoy the lake.  From Pontoon Boat rentals to Sunset Appetizer Cruises, there are activities of all time for all people with a single mission, to enjoy Redfish Lake and all that it has to offer!

Horse Corrals

Horeseback Riding

The Redfish Corrals offer 1 1/2 hour, half day, and full day scenic rides. Ask about the “Alpine Ride” where you climb 3000 feet to the Sawtooth Divide. Pack lunches, route planning, and guides are available.

Visitor’s Center

The Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association operates Redfish Lake Visitors Center and Gallery. The center offers exhibits and tours, as well as free programming such as guided walks and campfire evening programs. The Center opens in the beginning of June and closes mid September. The Visitor’s Center is open 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, and has everything you need to enjoy all of the fantastic activities around Redfish Lake. Don’t forget to walk the amazing boardwalk through Fishhook Creek!
