1. Alice Lake Alice Lake in Idaho

Hiking to Alice Lake can be an excellent day trip or an overnight backpacking excursion. The route to this alpine lake is 11.2 miles long and will give you a true taste of the beauty of the Sawtooth Wilderness. If you would like to hike the easy portion, turn around about halfway. You’ll still be treated to views of waterfalls, creeks, and distant mountains!

2. Fourth of July Lake

Whether you are looking to go on a romantic stroll with your sweetheart or a place to explore with the entire family, the Fourth of July Lake hike is for you! The trail is short enough to not pose too much of a challenge and has an elevation gain of only 615 feet. During your hike, you’ll pass over babbling creeks and through towering trees. Once you reach the lake, you’ll be in awe at the sparkling water. The White Cloud Mountain Range and fluffy clouds are reflected in the still lake to create a gorgeous sight.

3. Fish Hook Creek Trail Fishhook Creek Trail

The Fish Hook Creek Trail is just a few hundred yards away from Redfish Lake Lodge! This Sawtooth National Forest hiking trail is rated as easy, so people of all ages can enjoy it. The 4-mile round trip will take you through peaceful meadows and dense forests until you reach the creek. At the end of the trail, you’ll find the running water and an expansive meadow that’s perfect for relaxing in. Pack a picnic and take in the view!
